Pride Homes of Beamsville gets national kudos

A Beamsville custom renovator has won a prestigious pair of Canadian home builder awards. Pride Homes By Fred Hendriks Inc. was handed the American Standard Grand (SAM) Awards at the recent Canadian Home Builders’ Association conference in Victoria, B.C. Pride won in the categories of whole house, $500,000 and less, and addition home renovations. “We really thought these two projects would have a good chance to win at the Canadian level,” said company president Fred Hendriks. “Lo and behold, it’s our first time to enter and we’re the only Ontario builder to win two SAM awards. “It was quite a thrill. Hendriks said the whole house award was for a major project by the Niagara Escarpment in Grimsby. The 1950s-era building was intended as a retirement home and a long-term family residence. The addition award was for an elaborate indoor pool renovation, also in Grimsby but for different clients. “That pool was set up in the basement level, with a walkout to the backyard,” Hendriks said. “It had huge windows and doors that could open up to a patio in the summertime.” Hendriks said the SAM awards are his company’s first, although it has previously taken home five Niagara Home Builders’ Association Awards of Excellence. Pride Homes is geared toward unique and custom additions and renovations, and takes on small to large-scale projects.
